The retail store is closed. A few leftovers are still on the shelf, ordered by email or Discord. Servicing is open and always will be. See what's left

KNC Keys

The bench is still open.

Switch lubing, stabilizer tuning, soldering, hot-swap conversions, and full keyboard assembly.

After five years, KNC Keys stopped selling parts on October 23, 2026. The service work never stopped. Same hands, same lubes, same standard.

Every switch gets opened, coated by hand, and put back together. Nothing is tumbled or sprayed.

Build your order

Fill in whatever applies: you can combine switch work, stabilizers, a build, and mods in one order. The total updates as you go. Nothing is charged here; I send a PayPal invoice once we've confirmed the details.

Priced per switch. "Your material" means you send the lube or films.

A 65% board is usually 68. A full-size is around 104.

XHT-BDZ, $2.00 per stabilizer. Clipped, lubed and balanced. One lube, one method: it's the most consistent result I can give you.

How many stabilizers? A 65% board is usually 5 or 6, counting the spacebar.

Flat rate by board size. Includes soldering and assembly.

Separate on purpose. Pulling old switches out and soldering new ones in is two jobs, so tick this and pick a build size above if that's what you need.

Turns a soldered PCB into hot-swap. You cover the cost of the sockets themselves.

Mods & add-ons

Can be added to any build, or ordered on their own.

On PE foam: it gives a poppier sound, but the long-term effects on a PCB aren't fully known and there's a real chance it damages one. I don't recommend it on soldered builds. Ask me first.

This is where shipping instructions and your invoice go.

How it works

Mail-in, start to finish.

  1. Send the request

Fill in the form above. Nothing is charged and nothing is committed yet.

  2. We sort the details

I'll email you to confirm the work, then send a PayPal invoice. Goods & Services only. Never Friends & Family, so your payment stays protected.

  3. Send your parts in

Case, PCB, plate, stabilizers, switches. Keycaps optional. I'll give you the address once the invoice is settled.

  4. I do the work

Switches opened and coated by hand. Stabs clipped, lubed and balanced. Sockets and diodes soldered one joint at a time.

  5. It comes back

Packed properly and shipped with tracking. I'll invoice the return shipping once it's ready to go out.

Before you order

You provide the parts. Everything except lubricant, solder and band-aids comes from you: case, PCB, plate, stabilizers, switches, films, Mill-Max sockets. If you'd rather not source it alone, ask me on Discord. Consultation and parts advice are free and always have been.

Shipping is yours both ways. You cover sending parts to me, and I invoice the return shipping once the work is done.

There's no guaranteed lead time. One person, one queue. If something is time-sensitive, tell me up front and we'll work something out. I'd rather warn you it'll be slow than leave you wondering.

Odd jobs are welcome. Mods not listed here get priced case by case, and I'll always check the number is fair with you before starting.
